Images broken, can not display
-
A few weeks ago all of the images in my blog stopped loading – they displayed as broken. I tried adding them a different way (uploading then taking the URL and inserting directly into my code, rather than “inserting” the image through wordpress), but nothing worked. Currently, every image in my blog posts are broken.
I have no problems uploading the images themselves and when I try to insert an image it seems ok in the insert image popup but then in the Visual tab it refuses to load. Re-uploading doesn’t help.
I saw in an eariler thread someone suggested reducing the number of entries on a page. I reduced from 5 to 3, but saw no improvement. Some of my older images are big (I tried to make newer posts have smaller images) but they worked at first, the broken images are a recent problem. Here’s an example (https://zoogie2.wordpress.com/2010/12/06/hectic-harried-tired/). Most of my recent posts have not included images because of this problem.
Any help is appreciated!!

The images are coming up for me. Would you happen to be in the UK, perchance? It seems some IPs are being blocked, because of the DDoS attack from last week.

I’m actually located in California but I think you just helped me solve the issue!
I’m pretty sure it’s IE’s fault. I just upgraded my IE version a few weeks ago and I just realized that it may have coincided with this problem. I just viewed my blog (the site, not logged in) through FireFox and I was able to see the images.
I know that the newest version of IE has additional safety upgrades (it’s always giving me a popup with the wordpress page), maybe it’s been blocking images as “unsafe”?
So from now on I’ll use Firefox or Chrome although I still need to test actually uploading an image to see if it works while writing a post.
