Images change size and alignment in different computers
-
Hi!
I have an issue with my pictures as I set the same width for all of them, but they appear with different sizes and alignment from computer to computer, within the same post.
They look perfect on my Macbook, but with several different sizes and alignment on my 2009 iMac…
Can you help?
Thanks! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @martafragateiro,
I took a look at your two first photos in your post called new york city – day five. The first picture has a size of 825×1100 px, and the second one with food in it has a size of 982×1309 px. So when you imported them into your WordPress site, they did not have the same size.
And even though you set all of the pictures to have for example the thumbnail size, if you click on them to edit them, you’ll probably see that they have different pixel sizes as well. This is because when you uploaded them to your WordPress.com site, they had different sizes.
However, it is possible to work around this. You can either edit them in a photo editor like Photoshop or Gimp before you upload them to your site, and make sure they’re all the same size and have the same aspect ratio (landscape format, portrait format or squared format).
Or…..you can fix this within WordPress.com itself! You can crop all the images so they all have the same aspect ratio. Please check out the support article below for how to do this:

To edit the alignment of any photo, click on them in your editor and a small menu bar will appear above the image. Make sure every image has the same alignment if you want them to be consistent. You can choose between left alignment, right alignment, center alignment or no alignment.

Hi!
Thank you for your reply, but when I try to edit the photos on my media library there’s no resizing option for a specific size. Only rotate, flip or change to original size, square, 16:9, 4:3 or 3:2…
Thanks -
Once inside the media library, click the image you want to edit. Once here, click the small Edit button underneath the image. This is how it looks:
https://cloudup.com/cLPozhVDpCxOnce inside this area, start clicking and dragging when you have your mouse cursor over your image. You´ll get a square you can adjust however you like. You can also set the exact dimensions to the right of the screen. Once finished, click the small button in the top left corner. This is how it looks:

That doesn’t happen at all! I would like to show you what I get on my screen after clicking on edit button. how can I send you a screenshot?
Anyway, I’ve found a way to solve it. I set the size by hand on visual instead of changing the width on html… Funny how I had to find my own solution and nobody could get me an efficient one.
Regarding alignment, thank you so much, but that is pretty basic, right? How did you think I was managing before?? Funny again!

I’m glad you managed to find a solution that worked for you.
If you want to send a screenshot here on the forum, you can use Cloudup, which you can find here:
https://cloudup.comI know the alignment thing is pretty basic, but it’s not always that easy to know what level people are at just by reading a few lines of text ;)
