images disappear when I save draft
-
I am writing a long blog post with many images for my blog:
http://letsplaymath.wordpress.com/When I save the draft, it deletes my images. The line which had read (for example):
<img src="http://letsplaymath.wordpress.com/files/2009/12/dancers.png"/>
Changes itself to:
<img />The images are still in my media file, but they refuse to stay in my post.
I have already tried the following: Change browsers (tried both IE and Firefox), clear cache, delete cookies, reboot computer, disable browser addons. None of those made any difference. Any suggestions?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Try using the Visual editor. Alternately, after inputting the HTML, change to Visual and see if your image appears immediately (it should if you entered the HTML right).

Hey, that worked! (At least for now.) I wonder why it would save differently in the Visual Editor and in the HTML Editor. I have never had the HTML Editor strip images in this way in the past. And here I thought the thing that set computers apart from people was that they were logical and consistent!
Oh, well, I’m back to revise the post one more time, and then *hopefully* to publish it with images intact.
Thanks!!!

Whew! It is still working. Here is the post, if anyone is interested:

Your image codes are stripped out because they are not correct: there should be a space between the closing quote and the slash.
-
Hm. The codes are what wordpress put in when I clicked the “insert in post” button. I didn’t write them by hand. (I don’t know enough to do that!) So is it a glitch in wordpress.com?

I went back and created a temporary draft to test this. When I manually added a space, all my images stayed nicely where they belonged — nothing disappeared. So now I guess the question is, why would the media upload/insert doohickey leave out that space when writing the image into my post?
