Images disappearing from blog and media library
-
Images are spontaneously disappearing from my wordpress.com blog, and seem to be gone from the media library as well. It has happened on more than one post. Earlier I just re-uploaded the photos, but this gets tiresome when glitch repeatedly occurs. A similar issue has been previously flagged here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/images-disappearing-8?replies=19
But I don’t see any resolution. Is there anything to be done?
Thanks.

Hi there!
Can you give me a link to a post where your images have disappeared? Are you seeing broken image icons? Or are the images totally gone with no placeholder left behind?
Can you also tell me what version of your browser you’re running? Try using a different browser or a different computer and let me know what you see?

Hi – Thanks for your replies, sorry I didn’t get notifications of them for some reason.
The browser I’m using is Chrome (Version 41.0.2272.101, 64-bit), and the suggestions by TimeThief don’t seem to apply because it’s not simply an issue with images not showing, they are gone from my media library altogether and not their irrespective of what browser one uses.
They do leave a placeholder, and the captions are also in place.
Here is an example of a post I have not fixed by re-uploading the images:

Thanks for the link! It looks like the images in that post were embedded from a URL that references Facebook. Did you recently remove these images from Facebook? or make the album private?
It’s best to fully upload the images to your Media Library if you’re going to use them on your site. This makes sure that your content won’t disappear. :)
Let me know if I can help further!
