Images disappearing from my post

  Over the last two years virtually all my images have disappeared from my post. The captions remain and in some cases a question mark where a jpg was is only a frame.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  @alderbanks, I’m spot checking posts and I definitely see images:

  Aotearoa Adventure 2018

  Are those showing up as broken for you?

  Noting too, if you delete items from the media library, but do not delete their references in posts, they can show up like broken images.

  From what I’m seeing though, your images are showing up. Can you confirm we’re looking at the same site?

  Actually the blog post I was having trouble with was this one: https://wordpress.com/post/alderbanks.wordpress.com/281. The title of this blog posting is: “Croatia Bike Trip- Porec to Dubrovnik” When I checked the next morning the majority of the images had finally loaded into the post. The last dozen images had yet to have loaded and showed up. They seem to load in order of earliest to latest somehow. It just took a lot longer than it use to, for example within the first six months of the post’s existence. I cannot explain why unless it is more deeply archived since it is a couple years old. Thanks for checking in. I appreciate it. I will try again to let it completely populated with the images.

  Hello Mike,

  All images on that post are loading for me, but it is taking a while, yes. But that’s most likely just because it has so many images – each image you add in a post is a bunch of data your browser has to download, and that takes time. Depending on your internet connection a large number of images can make a post cause several minutes to fully load.

  Going forward, I’d suggest publishing more, shorter posts with fewer images per post, rather than one long post with many images like you have here. For posts that rely heavily on images, that’s the best way to ensure they still have a decent loading time on slower connections.
