Images displayed in the cubic theme (blog grid view) home page

    My blog address is https://wannabetvchefblog.wordpress.com/

Here is an example of my problem:
    https://wannabetvchefblog.wordpress.com/2015/06/28/the-guild-of-food-writers-2015-awards/
In the post-view, the photo is of TV chef Rick Stein (which is what I want). But in the cubic grid view is the photo is another photo from the article.

How can I make sure that the photo at the top of the post also shows in the grid view? (without creating a feature image).

My other question is trying to understand the menus and how to get
more functionality out of them (please keep in mind I am often blogging after a full day’s work).

If you click top right (when in the cubic grid view) you can see a list of different categories and also an About page.

I want to be able to add more widgets such as Yummly or pinterest button in the post view.

Please let me know if the theme has the capability to do this.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi, on the grid view, the image that is shown is typically the image that is set as the Featured Image. If a featured image is not set, Cubic will display the first image in the post. I’m not sure why Cubic is pulling the third image in that post instead of the first. I thought perhaps it had to do with image size, but the image it pulled is smaller than the recommended featured image size of 2000px x 1500px.

I would suggest setting featured images for all posts and then in the Customizer under Theme check the last box where it says, “Only use featured images on blog index”. That will put the featured image in the grid but not show it on the single post page.
