images dont appear in posts?!

whenever i try to “add media” (an image), i run in to some problems….
problem #1: the “add media” box pops up in the lower right hand corner and isn’t completely visible
problem #2: the image may or may not appear as i am writing the post and DOES NOT APPEAR when i preview the post and when i come back to edit the post, the image is gone again!
**this porblem started a few days ago and ive tried closing and reopening, refreshing, signing out, NOTHING WORKS!
please help because i am lost and can’t post as usual with images. thank you!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1. How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. It sounds like there could be a problem with your ISP. Can you access any of these directly?
2. Are you using http:// or https:// see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
3.Which browser and version of it are you using?
4. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
5. Is your browser version up to date? You can upgrade any browser version here. http://browsehappy.com/
6. Do you have another browser you can try?

Don’t know if this is the right place to ask, but I can’t get feature images to appear on my Bueno blog. Images are in the posts, but I’m trying to get the thumbnails on the sidebar. I click set feature images, I get the uploader, but it doesn’t have an option on the uploader, so the image file just goes into the post, not into the feature posts area. (I’m not terribly computer literate, so hope I’m being clear) Any ideas? My blog is http://conservativeblacknetwork.com/

I found something that says I can fix this by adding _theme_support( ‘post-thumbnails’ ); to my functions.php file. The only problem is I dont know where that is. Can you please tell me where to find the functions.php file. Again, thanks so much.
