Images don't show in my email subscriptions

  The emails that are sent out to subscribers for each new post do not include any images. Do I need to use Flickr for this to work?

  In most of the themes I’ve experimented with, I’ve found that a custom excerpt is what goes out on a feed and presumably also what goes out to subscribers.

  Here is information about custom excerpts:

  If you include an image or html formatting in your custom excerpt, then it will appear in the feed. Note that shortcodes and embeds do not work in custom excerpts.
