images don’t show in RSS

I am using my RSS feed to populate part of my website. I’ve got a handy-dandy bit of code that grabs the title and description (excerpt) and puts it in the HTML. It would grab the image associated with the post too…except when I put an image in the post, it doesn’t show up in the RSS feed! I hope you can help me with this. I’m tearing my hair out and I’m running out of hai. Thanks in advance.

Images don’t usually come up, in RSS feeds, when you’re doing an excerpt; rather than a full feed.

I have to limit the title to 50 characters (no problem)
And I have to limit what the RSS pulls for the body text to 100 characters, so I have to use the excerpt. The full post would be way to big. Nay suggestions?

Was the Nasa feed an excerpt or full feed. To the best of my knowledge, photos don’t show in excerpts. But if I’m wrong, I’m sure someone will come along and lead you in the right direction.

I can’t tell excerpt/full (I can give you the URL if you like), but in any event, you are correct, the RSS will not pull an image in an excerpt. I know that for sure. What I was hoping to do was have the RSS pull the image and title from the actual post, the content from the excerpt.

Got ya, and I’m sorry I misunderstood your initial question. I don’t know how to do what you’re asking, and am not even sure if it can be done on WordPress. But there are some knowledgeable people who hit the forums. I’m sure one of them will be able to help ya!

I don’t think it can be done, because every feed is going to come from the root WP.com feed, and if you’ve got it set to excerpt you are stuck. If there were a feed just for images you could also use that, but to automate this seems to me impossible.
Although I am far from an expert when it comes to feeds.
