Images elsewhere on the internet can’t be linked
-
Hi, I’ve just decided to move my blog from the new Blogger to WordPress.
I’m trying to add links to pictures which I have elsewhere on the internet to my WordPress blogposts, but after adding the URL link in that little image box which pops up after clicking the tree, and then publishing, no pictures show up on my posts.
I also notice that immediately after adding the URL link to the post, the image icon (that little box with different coloured shapes) is shown as broken, i.e. as a broken link.
Why does this happen? It can’t be the server where the pictures are hosted, because I’ve tried linking from different photopages, like Flickr, Fotopages, Photobucket.
Please help!

And an example of this would be?
Just for reference, Blogger only allows images hosted on their servers to be displayed by sites on their servers. It’s called hotlinking and they don’t allow it.
As to the other sites, we can’t give you a reason until we see what you have done.

The problem has been somewhat fixed, but only if I am using the “Code” page to publish my post, not the regular Rich Text format one. Whenever I am typing my post through the Rich Text mode, any picture uploads will only raise a broken link. It’s so weird!

You know what’s weirder? Folks who come into the forums here asking for help, someone goes out of the way to try and help them by asking for an example, and then getting totally ignored by the original poster.
*sigh*

I’m REALLY sorry Dr Mike, but I thought I did set out the problem in my first post above, .. I thought I was being clear there, but perhaps I thought wrong. :(
The other problem is because I haven’t got regular internet access, and so what little time I have on the web is spent in trying to quickly put up a post and upload the pictures.
My deepest apologies for the inconvenience, WON’T happen again, I promise!!!
