Images for internal page links

  Rather than just page links within a menu, I want to include 3 images on a page, which when clicked on, perform an internal link to another page.

  I’m using the ‘Twenty Seventeen’ theme. Can this be done – I’m not sure what support words to search for guidance, can you please assist, thanks.

  Thanks, but is it possible to have the text for the link destination written OVER the top of the picture rather than separately underneath for example?
