Images from blog not displaying

    We have set up a new blog – url: http://climbingmontblancat4810.wordpress.com/

    I am trying to promote the blog via social media and have been adding the above url into my posts to send out on Twitter and LinkedIn.

    I have just discovered when clicking on the blog link from my Twitter and LinkedIn feeds that none of the images from my blog (except the header image) are displaying). I am just seeing empty white boxes, I have asked two other people to test from different Pc’s and mobiles and they are all seeing the same empty white boxes where the photos should be.

    Please can someone help me, I am a complete novice using WordPress and this is a charitable event I am helping to promote so appreciate any support on this matter. I can’t understand why I can see all the images when viewing the blog url direct on my Pc but it’s not working via the social media or mobiles?

    Many thanks in advance for your help,
    Louise

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    You deleted the images from your Media Library and will have to upload them again as they aren’t on WordPress.com servers. This will clarify http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2013/09/20/omg-my-images-are-gone/

    What might be happening is that you’re seeing a copy of your image that is only available to you. It’s something that is called a “cache.” However, the image isn’t there for everybody else since I also can’t see the images. The current File URLs (links) for your images are broken, which means they’re not leading to any image. That’s why they appear blank. For example:

    As you can see, that link is going to a 404 page. Like timethief has suggested, it’s possible you deleted the images from your Media Library.

    The link timethief shared has helpful information, but just in case you’d like further help, you can try the following:

    1. Go to your Media Library, which should be located at:
    https://climbingmontblancat4810.wordpress.com/wp-admin/upload.php

    2. In that page, you can check:

    – Have you gone over your upload limit? At the very top of the page, it will say something along the lines of “You are currently using [number] kB out of [number] upload limit ([number]%).” If you have gone over your upload limit, you will have to do a space upgrade.

    – While still in your Media Library and if you haven’t gone over your upload limit, look at the list of the images you have uploaded. Do you see the images you uploaded and that you’re having issues with?

    If not, you’ll have to re-upload them.

    However, if you do see them, you can you click on the name of one of them to go to the editing screen for that image. In there, to the right side of the image, there’s a File URL. What is the File URL of it? You can copy and paste it here. This way, we can see whether maybe your latest post in your website is using the wrong links.

    @rebeca
    Excuse me but I have answered questions here for 8 years. In fact raincoaster and I predate almost every Support Staff member even being on Staff.

    I checked and the missing images are all “404”error messages. They have been deleted form the Media Library. Thy must be uploaded again.

    @timethief: Yes, you answered a question I had here a long time ago. I thought you were very helpful. :)

    I’m sorry if it sounded like I was contradicting anything you said. I was just trying to add some more helpful information. I also checked the links and I know all of them are broken. I only linked to one of the broken images to explain to indigoeleven what was probably happening since they mentioned they were confused. And, I was just thinking that it was also possible that the images they wanted to see in their site were in their media library, but had a different file name. (That happens sometimes.) However, if you think it was totally wrong for me to suggest that possibility, I apologize to you and to indigoeleven.

    Anyway, I hope indigoeleven will find a resolution to their problem soon.

    @rebeca
    If I sounded grumpy then I humbly apologize. It was good of you to try to help. I didn’t want indigoeleven to be off on tangent. The only images in Goggle’s cache are these. Hopefully, indigoeleven has copies of the missing images because they must be uploaded onto WordPress.com servers again in order to be displayed when a browser calls for them.

    @timethief: You were nice to me before and it’s quite easy to see you’re very helpful with everyone here, so I wasn’t thinking you were grumpy, but I was thinking that maybe I had done something wrong without meaning to.

    I think you’ve made a good point. I wouldn’t want indigoeleven to go on in a tangent either, so I’ll be more careful when trying to help next time.

    Thank you both for your very quick response, you have been most helpful.
    The person who is doing the climb added the blog post and photos so I have passed your advice on to him to check if he has deleted the images from the media library after uploading them onto the blog.

    I will let you know how we get on.
    Thanks again,
