Images Have Disappeared from Blog Post
-
Hi there,
I have a new blog, hosted on wordpress.com.
Everything was working fine until a week or so ago, when I started getting broken image links on my first (and only) post. This happened without me making any changes.
Now when I go to the media library, most of the thumbnails show a broken image link/no thumbnail. When I click onto the broken thumbnail and clock ‘edit image’, I can see my original image.
I have looked at the settings for images under ‘Media Settings’, but there isn’t much I can change here.
I have read a lot of forum posts for self-hosted blogs, but not much information for ones hosted on wordpress.com.
I was wondering if it’s possible to re-index my images, or similar.
Has a change happened on wordpress recently that has screwed up the indexing? If this was self hosted, I might have some options for folder permissions, etc, but it’s hosted on wordpress.com – very limited options for me.
PS: I have tried clearing browser cache, cookies, etc.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @caramelanimals, I’m able to see all of the images on your post. Can you test to see whether the images come through on another browser or on another device / computer?

Hi there @supernovia,
I tested on several computers and other devices, on several different networks. Also cleared cache and cookies. It was worst on Google Chrome with only 4 or so images appearing. Was better on Firefox and IE, with around 6 images missing from the blog post. All platforms were having trouble displaying thumbnails in the Media Library.
It would appear that something has happened to remedy the issue, as after seeing your post, I logged in across different browsers across two machines on different networks and no longer see the issue. Thumbnails are appearing correctly in the Media Library, and my post has the full amount of images now.
So, thanks to anyone who may have followed up on this and done something in the back end, or thank heavens the part of the system that was causing my issue is now back up and running.
Thanks again @supernovia and @timethief

Ah, if it was happening in multiple browsers and on different computers, it must have been some sort of hiccup in the local networks. Let us know if you see it again. Cheers!
