Images in earlier posts are suddenly huge.

What happened to make my images HUGE? When the posts were published the images were all the correct size.
-
Hey there, could you link to the affected post or page? I see a site on your account, but its images seem to be sized properly.

This is the site; https://sarahkmasters.wordpress.com. Scroll to the Feb. 22 post and earlier. The most recent post was made after the WordPress shift to 5.5 and was unaffected. I corrected the one before that (August 16) before realizing that all of the earlier posts were affected. Everything comes up fine on a cell phone but not a laptop.

The theme you are using now (Simpla) is a theme that we retired some time ago, so it can be the case that as time goes you may see issues like this as it falls further out of date: https://wordpress.com/theme/simpla
Because this is a retired theme we will not be able to address this with a bug fix, but you can edit older blog posts and check your image settings. I noticed the images in your Feb 22 post are set to use the full size image which is quite large.

If you change those to use the “Large” size instead of the “Full Size” option they will correctly be contained in the layout.
Another option (and the one we recommend) is to take this opportunity to freshen up the look of your site by choosing a new theme. You can see the current themes we offer here: https://wordpress.com/themes/
