images in footer too spaced out!

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello, im trying to adjust the spacing in the footer. i added 4 images with links and it seems to auto space it. I’d like the images closer together and centered.

    Hi there,

The footer in Twenty Thirteen will automatically space out widgets to fill the footer space. To fit your images closer together, you may want to use a Text Widget and place all the images in one widget. You can use HTML to add the images with links to the text widget — if you don’t know HTML, you can use the Visual Editor to create Text Widget Links to put in your widget.

If you have any questions about this, please let me know!

i used a text widget, which helps. i can get them closer together, but still cant center them, or ever get all 4 on the same line :-/

Hi there, it looks like you decided to switch themes, and I see that your images are now all centered in a line in the footer. It looks great! Do you need any further help with this?

Thank you! Actually, I was never able to center the images In the footer, or put more than 3 on the same line. Instead I put the code at the bottom of every page to get a similar effect. it’s not exactly what I want… But c’est la vie. Thank you for your help :)

Hi there, I see what you mean. If you are interested in working on this further, I think I found a fix for you:

You can copy the HTML code for the images from the bottom of your page, and paste it in a text widget in the footer. (Include the code that centers the text on the page.)

Then, place an empty text widget as the first widget in your footer (above the other text widget in the footer section on your Widgets page). Be sure to save both widgets after you add them. This should push the widget with the images to the center of the footer.

    I hope this helps! :)
