Images in Media Library and in published posts appearing broken

I have images in my media library which are linked to posts on different pages of my site. Some of them are readable in the posts, others appear broken (though when you click on the broken icon, the image will appear in a new tab OR show no file present. Also, viewing the images in the media library, some of them appear broken, yet they read clearly on their corresponding posts… This was working fine a week ago, I don’t know what has changed.
I did make sure my google chrome is updated, and erased my cache & cookies, and browser history.

The same happens to me. I am also uploading pictures and they are not shown. Some in my media library are not visible as well.

Yes, I see on one of your pages how an image wont load. I am going to try and start a new library with new images. Pretty frustrating.

I am experiencing the same problem, both in my public site and private media libraries.
The images appear in posts, but there are 100s of broken links in the library (just little blue ?). However, different images are missing in the grid format of the library, than in the list format.
I’ve cleared my cache and cookies. I’m using Safari 7.1.

I read through your post @timethief, and none of that seems to apply to me.

Mine are all hosted on wordpress.com servers. I have only uploaded a 6% of the allowed capacity. I am checkin other blogs and they look the same, some pictures do not show anymore.

Even one of the screenshots I just posted is showing as a broken link in my media library.

My guess is that Staff may be working on the Media Library. I tagged this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond.
ifmomsaysok will you please tag the other related threads reporting the same issue that you notice with modlook? I have to log out soon and get ready for a rehearsal.

I just started to have the same problem. Some of my older picture links suddenly today appeared a broken (pictures not showing). Instead I see repeated captions. I also cannot link new pictures.

Me too. My homepage (http://clairelisebraun.wordpress.com/) looks like hillbilly teeth with two images not showing, and half the images in my new blog post (http://clairelisebraun.wordpress.com/2014/10/04/st-werburghs-arts-trail-2014-part-1/) aren’t showing.

If I deleted the original files from my library and re-uploaded them, then linked them (as media files), they reappear on my published public site, however, some of them still appear broken in the library, though functional otherwise. Weird, but a temporary fix.
Thank you timethief, I’ll keep a lookout for new posts for explanations incase of future anomalies.
