Images in Media Library and in published posts appearing broken

Am having a similar issue. Has been cropping up in the last week. Today it is much worse. Images in the media library appear to have broken links or are missing. If I click on the thumbnail the image is still there. But often it will not appear in the post editor or on the site itself –this is across a series of sites and on the latest Firefox and Safari browsers.
Visiting the sites, random images are missing.
Very disturbing.

I stand corrected… images are missing on my blog front page and in posts, as well as in the media library.

When I added a new image for a draft post it uploaded ok, but when I do a preview of the article it is missing.

Yes, when I do the preview of a just uploaded featured image it does not show. See this post too:

Hi, I’m also having the same problem. My images are not appearing in the media library or the post editor or the post after uploading. I haven’t used all my image capacity either. Also a video I embedded from YouTube isn’t showing. Not so bad on a desktop but looks worse on a mobile. Very worrying. Are staff addressing this issue?

Same problem, just started this morning. Galleries with broken links. The media files appear to be there, but thumbs are gone.
And my background image has disappeared: it’s there in the theme but not on the page.

I´m having the same problem. Photos inside posts appear broken. Some show up when clicked, in another browser window, others don´t. My blog is: http://littlegreenkettle.com Thanks for any help you can give.

The problem may be connected with how “?w=490” is being appended to the image links. That is not part of the original text,and seems to be something the image server is adding on its own.
When I try to view the image link after removing that part, the image appears.

Also, the image server is responding with a 500 error — Internal Server Error.
So I guess we just hang in there until they figure it out.

So glad to see it’s not me.
I can’t understand why the images are there on the screen but show up as broken in my media library or don’t show up on the published page but are they are there in the editor/media library.

Same problem as above. The last weeks are still ok, so far, but older ones are broken. Even a couple from WITHIN a slide show – so 1,2, 4 and 6 appear but 3 and 5 are broken!

I am experiencing the same problems today! Images appear broken. not all of them. I tried to resize them but it did’t work. Can it be that this is a general wordpress problem and that it will be fixed or should I do something about it?
