Images in ordered lists
-
I’m used to the classic editor and make much use of ordered lists. Previously, I had no difficulty inserting a picture, anchored to a particular item in a list. I’d usually choose thumbnail and right-align, and the text would nicely wrap around the image, and if I edited the text of that or other items in the list, everything would just flow as I expected.
Now with the Gutenberg editor, I can only add an image bock separate from the list block, and while I can specify thumbnail & right-align, I can only position the image to right-align with the first item in the list. If I want the image to appear with, say, item 3, I can create two list blocks (Items 1-2 & 3+), and renumber the start of the 2nd block to be 3 rather than 1. It sort-of works, but I can’t see a way of maintaining the usual line spacing of the items in the list. Normally, consecutive items have no space, but where a 2nd or subsequent block is used to allow images, there is a double space – which looks untidy.
Is there a solution?

Hi! For this I would recommend the Classic Block. Is that working for you?
Also, if you could send a link to a page or post where you’ve done this, we may be able to make another recommendation.

Thank you for the suggestion of using the classic block.
I had tried it previously, but couldn’t see how to set the required size of the right-aligned image. The sizing options of the old classic editor are not apparent. However, on looking again, I see that I can select the image and use the sizing handles to set the size manually. It’s rather clunky but does seem to work.
I know the new block editor has come in for quite a lot of criticism, but not being able to replicate previous functionality is disappointing. Is the classic block here to stay, or is it an interim offering, I wonder. I don’t want to rework existing posts only to find that they no longer function, later.
