Images in post – some gallery some not?

Is it possibe to remove pictures from a gallery but keep them in the loaded images list?
I want to insert a couple of photos in the main part of a post and then a gallery of three across a page at the bottom.
Is there a way to do that easily?

Apologies – i should be ‘linked’ now.
I am dyslexic and don’t always see what people think I should see as far as pre-reading before posting.To better explain my problem, now I have understood something about galleries, I didn’t see before. ie Each ‘gallery’ contains all photos for a post.
I would like to have some photos as single ‘inserts’ and some as a group across the page in the same post. In my latest post, you will see one at the top and three later on. I would have liked to have a mini-gallery of those last three on one line as what happens if I were to insert an entire gallery of three photos.
I hope that makes more sense.
I may be off-line for a few days now, so don’t be offended if I don’t reply quickly to any future help or directions.

You can upload all three images to the post and then use the Gallery function to insert them; just make a NEW post, untitled and DRAFT status, and upload the other pictures to that one. Then you can use the Gallery feature on just those three images and add the other images one at a time from your Media Library. That should work.

Hi … I have been trying to get around this prob for months … so was very interested in this new discussion.
Raincoaster … I tried what you suggested …
ie. create Draft post … upload image NOT wanted in gallery & save to media file … but as soon as I “insert to post” the image from the Media Library to the post I am working on… it automatically adds it to the post gallery as well. Is there any way of deleting an image from the gallery WITHOUT deleting it from the media library or the post?

@andrealowcock: If you want a gallery plus an independent image in a post, you must first upload the gallery images to another post or page, get the ID number of that post or page and use it with the gallery shortcode. See the post I linked to.
