Images in Reader
-
Just put up a new post, and the Reader did not pick up the featured image, which is also the first image in the post. Instead it picked up a picture of the video farther down the page. The video image does not relate directly to the topic and won’t do anything to attract readers. Why doesn’t the Reader grab either the featured image or the first image, as most bloggers intend?

Hi there,
Just put up a new post, and the Reader did not pick up the featured image
I had a look at your latest post in the Reader and the featured image is showing up for me:

Are you able to see it now?
Instead it picked up a picture of the video farther down the page.
If no featured image is selected, the Reader will display an image from within your post instead — this image needs to be larger than 350px wide.
Although the first image is 550px wide, it has been inserted into the post as a medium sized image (350px), so that’s why the video was appearing instead.
Come back to me if you have any questions.

Oh, 350px minimum. That explains it. I’ll keep that in mind in the future. Thanks.
What if there’s only one image and it’s smaller than 350 px?
-
Yes, so 351px would do the trick :)
If there’s no featured image and no image above 350px, only text will be displayed.
