images instead of words for recent posts

  Is there a way that I can display an extra small image/small thumbnail of an image in the post rather than the words, under my Recent Posts?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  No there isn’t and we cannot edit themes or templates on WordPress.com blogs. See here > Recent Posts widget > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/recent-posts-widget/ and here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/editing-themes/

  I you want to create your own Recent Posts widget and manually udate it every time you publish that’s easily done using a text widget. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/#adding-an-image
