images keep disappearing

And, eventually, after I edit whichever is the post and see if there’s anything wrong – which there isn’t – they decide to reappear.
Currently the one that’s just done a bunk is the event icon in my post called “Ahem! – pay attention this way”The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
– not to mention my image that links to timethief’s blog – down near the bottom of my sidebar!
-
Are you referring to the red banner “Like, Love or Loathe?” Present and accounted for.
tt’s banner link at the bottom of your sidebar is present for me as well.
I’d first see if viewing in a different, up-to-date browser displays the images for you. If so, then you know it is something to do with your current browser.
-
No. What I’m referring to is that images within my site go AWOL every so often and then, as I said, return.
They’re gone on an average of an hour or so, during which time one sees only one of those little square thinggies in the middle of where they should be,indicating a broken link.
It is nothing whatsoever to do with my browser/s. -
I’ll keep checking through the day then. At the moment, I see them in Chrome32 and FF26.
If you come upon this problem, won’t you please grab a screenshot and upload it to your Media Library and note the date/time.

In your latest post (Jan 28), which I looked at just now, I can see a small bug in an envelope holding a valentine.
Looking around at your other recently published post, all images are present and accounted for.
What image is missing and in which post did you insert it?
-
Just giving my true advice:
Your website is awesome but it takes a long time to load up your website. Do consider to check for places where you can minimize the loading time to prevent your visitor from going away.
An example could be changing the ebook cover from jpeg to png, http://margaretrosestringer.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/book.jpg

@justjennifer. Can we get this straight please? You suggested I take screengrab of the next instance of the problem and upload it to my media files.
I did that.
Now you are asking me a question with any reference at all to the image uploaded.
What did you ACTUALLY want me to do?
@sgactiverun. How long does it take, please? Are you saying that inserting all images as .pngs would greatly reduce load time from their current existence as .jpgs? -
@justjennifer. Apologies, readily offered.
I was rushing to stop the rice boiling over in the kitchen, and thought I’d completed the upload, but hadn’t.
It’s there now; and you can see that it comes from where the cartoon is now back in place – a couple of posts down. -
No problem. I’ve marked this for Staff assistance. They will be able to see the screenshot. FWIW I saw that cartoon when I posted above.
Also FWIW-your site loads super fast for me and I clear my browser cache before looking. For some reason on WPcom, when a site has domain mapping, there is a small lag time before the site loads. Nothing really noticeable in your case.
Please be patient and wait for Staff to assist you. Don’t reply to this thread unless you have new information for them.

The image works fine on this end. Are you able to open the image when you visit this link? http://margaretrosestringer.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/ozday.jpg?w=243&h=300
-
Yes.
I know the image is working: it was working again a couple of hours after is went away – as can be seen in the screengrab I put in my Media files. It’s all stopped now; but there were a couple of days during which images were coming and going, and I thought it worth reportin.
Btw, the Batman image isn’t missed. :-D -
I’m glad it’s resolved now. Thanks for the report.
