Images keep showing up in my gallery not where I want them

I am trying to make a post with both a gallery of photos and a couple of other random photos throughout. My gallery turned out fine, however when I try to post another image in another section of my post by placing the curser where I want image, uploading image, clicking insert image into post, it shows up where I want it to but it also shows up in the gallery I have at the top of my post as well. When I go under my gallery tab and delete the picture, it then deletes it from the place I want it to appear as well (because it’s deleting it from my media file as well). How do I keep the pictures I want out of my gallery within the same post? Or how do I delete these pictures from my gallery while keeping them in another section of my post?

The gallery will pull and display all images that are uploaded when that post is active.
You can however edit the gallery code in the HTML tab, and “exclude” images from the gallery by their attachment ID’s separated by commas.
Now the problem: The only place I can find the attachment ID’s is when you go to dashboard > media > library, hover over the image title and then look in the browser status bar and you will see “attachment_id=XXX where XXX is the number.

Im a little confused because within the post when I am under the HTML tab it only reads [galery]. So even if I am able to get all the diffrent ID numbers for each image I would like to use, I’m not sure where I would add them

You would modify that to:
[gallery exclude="a,b,c,d"]
(a,b,c,d etc. being the ID numbers of the images you want to exclude.) -
