Images Look Gritty

  Images I’ve added to my blog look gritty when they shouldn’t. I’m not sure exactly what is causing this problem. I was oblivious to it at first as the pictures I link look OK on my Mac, but look gritty when viewed with a Windows computer. I have seen the same problem on two separate Windows computers, and the images look just as gritty on different browsers on a Windows.

  What is the nature of the problem, and is there a solution?

  I think it’s the compression. Those are really big files, squashed to show up small on the blog; you’re better off resizing them in an image program, then uploading them.

  raincoaster: so using large images actually make them look worse? I didn’t know that…thanks.
