Images lost on older posts
-
Images (i-photo) from my older posts (which were originally successfully uploaded) are gone when I go back months or years later to edit the post (box with a “?” inside appears). What is happening? Can this be remedied?
I’ve been blogging for several years and this has been a consistent problem necessitating my uploading the original photo images again and again.

Where were the images hosted?
Did you upload them into your Media Library on your blog?
Have you exhausted your free media storage space? Look on your Media Library page at the top to see if that’s the case or not.
http://judithwesterfield.com/wp-admin/upload.phpHave you deleted images from your Media Library? If you delete an image file from your Media Library then you are removing it from WordPress.COM servers and it cannot be displayed when a browser calls for it. In order to have the images display you have to upload them again.
Have you hot-linked to images hosted on an other site?

Thank you for the clarification. I will double check to see if I’ve deleted them from my media library. Since I’ve not hot-linked that is the most likely scenario.
My media library is so large I have periodically culled photos out not understanding how it all works.
Your response was very helpful.
