Images not adding to plugin galleries

    I have a new website and am currently building it. I like the tiled galleries you can have through Modula and Jetpack.
    When trying to add images to any plugin gallery, it will only allow low res (less than a MB) and not anything larger (3MB).
    This happens whether loading from media library or uploading direct.
    It is not a plugin issue as the same is happening with all.
    I am also using a Pipdig theme.
    Please help!
