Images not appearing in Monotone Theme

Recently, I helped a friend move from a WP-hosted blog to a self-hosted blog. She was using the Monotone theme, so I imported all her posts and activated the Monotone theme. First, the images would not resize. I found the documentation that said to move and rename the htaccess.txt file, along with moving the thumb.php file. I did this, and at first, the images were sized properly but some of the images were just flat-out missing. Now, all the images are missing. So, I’m not sure what is going on, or what I am missing. If anyone has any advice, it would be much appreciated!

Monotone theme does not respond to hotlinked images. She’ll have to re-upload them all into her new webspace.
