Images not displayed in manage uploads

    Hi everyone,
I started using wordpress today and was impressed by all the features!

But.. I did have one problem. The short story is: I am using 16% of my (free) 50 mb, but cannot see the photos I’ve uploaded in manage uploads. I tried uploading different photos, so thats why I’m now using 16%. Not one photo shows up.
I want to use a photo in my sidebar (I have figured out how that works, but it would be a lot easier if I could see them in uploads). I uploaded one photo, which showed up in manage uploads and put that in my sidebar. I then decided to put another photo there, and deleted the first photo. After that I tried uploading another photo, but that one didn’t show up in manage uploads. I tried logging off (and on), and tried Firefox and Explorer (you never know..)

Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong or how this problem can be fixed?
    Thanks in advance!

In three hours time you’ve already used 16% of 50 mb? :O

Yes I have, but that is all photos! I thought the problem could’ve been that I resized one photo and then uploaded it again (with the same name as before), so I tried uploading several different photos. They weren’t resized, so take up a lot of space…

Try optimizing the pictures so they’ll load quicker and take up less space. I picked the 50% image:

thank for the tip, I’ll check it out when I’ve fixed the problem.Coz my problem is that even though I am using that much space, I can’t see any of my photos in manage uploads. Any ideas for that one?

If you cannot see your images here -> Manage -> Uploads -> Browse all then your blog needs staff help. Support will not be open until tomorrow between 9-5 PM. http://wordpress.com/contact-support/

If you are going to use up space that quickly, you might also want to look at free image hosts. If you are doing photographs or artwork, you can use Flickr. If it’s just random imagery, PhotoBucket or ImageShack will work. I’m at only 2% right now.

    Thanks for the tips guys!
I’m not sure what happened, but for some reason I now see the photos in Manage->uploads, so the problem fixed itself (after a couple of hours :))
