Images not loading

    Hello,
    Im seeing a problem happening every now and then in my wordpress.com sites.

    Sometimes, the images simply dont load and I have no idea why.

    Its only for images hosted in the wp servers, since my facepile widget can load all the images without problem.
    I saw that in Chrome and Internet Explorer in different computers.

    How do I solve that?

    Hi there!

    So for an image to load on your site, three things need to work correctly:

    1. The image needs to properly formatted in your media library.
    2. The img element in your post/page needs to be active, not a broken link.
    3. The network connection to the WordPress.com servers needs to work.

    If you’re ever seeing the images load correctly, the first two aren’t the problem. An improperly formatted image or a broken link won’t display correctly, regardless of the environment. So that doesn’t seem to be the case the way you’ve explained it.

    The third variable is a little trickier to figure out sometimes — it depends on our server, the browser visiting the site, and the multiple connections between the two. So let’s focus on that.

    Next time you see the error of images not loading, would you send us the HTTP headers output from your browser? Here are directions on how to do that:

    Hi Alex,
    Thanks for the response.

    No, options 1 and 2 doesn’t occur. Since I saw the images load several times, as I mentioned, it’s something that happens every now and then and I can’t simulate it nor force it to happen since I don’t know what’s causing it.

    I’m gonna send you the http headers next time it happens. Of course I couldn’t reproduce it now :P

    And don’t think its browser related, because I saw it happening both in Chrome and Internet Explorer.

    Hello there, just found the problem again and it was even on the wordpress page with the tutorial on how to get http headers! O.o

    How can I attach an image here? I took a print of the error, but here’s the message:
    Failed to load resource: net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED
