Images not showing (some of them)
-
I’m logged on as administrator. My blog is on WordPress.com. Can anyone suggest why I am not able to see images in these situations:
1. When I’m on my (private) blog, theme is MistyLook, I can’t see the image at the top of the front page (the official image that accompanies MistyLook).
2. When I go to My Dashboard, Presentation, I can see no theme images on the first theme page – except Black-Letterhead (the images showing Almost Spring, Ambiru, etc., are gone). On subsequent theme pages, some theme images are visible, others are not.
Is there anything wrong with image viewing in WordPress at the moment – or should I be looking for the solution on my own computer? Lack of memory or something?

I just looked on my test blog, which happens to be private. I switched it to MistyLook and put back the default header. Shows up fine.
The images on the theme viewer did seem to load slower than usual.
So, not sure if it is on the WP end or your end.
Did you try clearing your browser’s cookies and cache (cache probably being the important one).

I cannot quantify it at the moment, but it has been my impression over the past couple of days that there is either a bandwidth or image server issue from time to time. I would wait it out and see what happens.

Thanks for tip-off/reminder about cookies and cache … it worked! There may be other reasons for the problem – but that tip certainly helped.
BTW, where in My Dashboard do you change the font colour for MistyLook (as I believe it says you can)?Raincoaster:
Thanks for the semi-confirmation that there is a bit of slowdown at the moment. I think you’re right : best to wait it out for a spell. But it’s always tempting to put a question to the Forum … ;-) -
You can only make changes to fonts one post at a time on a wordpress.com blog unless you purchase a css editing upgrade and do the work yourself to change it throughout the blog. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/06/12/can-i-change-my-font-font-size/ http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/10/18/about-the-custom-css-upgrade/

Thank you, TimeThief
I haven’t seen a price for the CSS editing upgrade … ? Have I not been looking in the right place?

Thank you, thesacredpath … funny, I had already read that – but it was at a time when I didn’t think I would need it ;-)
I’m marking this topic “resolved”.
