Hey humans!

I can’t seem to make sure images show up on certain blog posts – could it be because the images are from an old theme?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What do you mean? Were they imported? Copied and pasted from a different website?

Hi @littleladyemilie, I’m seeing images on your main page with your posts now. Did you get this figured out, or are you still having issues with that?

Same problem here, somehow…

It isn’t my blog, but a friend’s. Some photos appear, some don’t. And those who don’t, usually appear first for a very short while, then disappear.
I’ve just updated my Chrome browser and the problem’s still there…

Have you exhausted your free media storage space? Look on your Media Library page at the top to see if that’s the case or not.

Where were the missing images hosted?

Did you upload them into your Media Library on your blog?

Did you delete theme from your media Library?

When you delete images from your Media Library there are no longer on WordPress.COM servers and will NOT be displayed in posts or pages when browsers call for the servers to display them because they no longer exist on the servers. As I said, that’s not my blog, but a friend’s. I don’t know whether he uploaded those photos from the Media Library or using an external URL. The fact is I can see them for a very short while when I load the page, but they just disappear, immediately.

Yes. I am running Firefox Firefox 37.0 and I see all 3 images. Are you sure you are running an up to date browser and version of it? You can upgrade here http://browsehappy.com

I’m running Chrome, and got this:

“Version 42.0.2311.90 m

Google Chrome is up to date.”

Could it be a Windows related ptoblem?

Hey guys,

I figured it out for my problem: I was using another theme (where I uploaded photos) then I changed themes (Cubic) and all the photos from the first theme were made obsolete. Strange that they didn’t transfer them over. I just had to find the photos again and re-upload them. Thanks!

Glad you found the culprit and were able to fix the issue.

Cubic first looks to see whether there’s a featured images on a post and displays that on the homepage. If there’s no featured image, it then looks for an image “attached” to the post. If your posts had no featured images or its images weren’t “attached” to the posts in the technical sense, that may explain why they weren’t displayed until you re-uploaded them.
