Images Not Uploading

  Hi,

  I am trying to upload media files, images specifically, so that i can use them on my pages. However, they are taking too long to upload and hence whenever i click on one which i would like to use, the ‘insert button’ stops highlighting.

  Has anyone else experienced the same problem and if so, how were you able to solve it?

  Hi,

  Can you try to upload one small image to make sure that it’s not a connection issue ?

  All WordPress.com blogs come with 3 GB of space for uploaded files and images. If you upload a lot of images you may have exceeded your free space allocation https://en.support.wordpress.com/space-upgrade/ and may require an upgrade.

  Have you checked out the tips in this support doc?

  Have you deleted images from your media library?

  Have you hotlinked to images hosted elsewhere?

  Images and media you upload into your media library and embed into posts and pages are on wordpress.COM servers. They remain visible unless or until you delete them from your media library. Deleting them from your media library also removes them from every place you embedded them in the blog and leaves behind broken links.

  Staff cannot restore images you delete from your Media Library. You have to upload them all again, and then fix every broken image link in every post/page it was embedded into previously.

  If you upload lots of images you can exhaust that free space allocation quickly. Currently, the only way to get an extra space allocation after you upload the images again, is to purchase an upgrade bundle. https://en.support.wordpress.com/space-upgrade/

  Additionally, if the missing images are ones hosted on servers somewhere else that you hot linked to, the owner of the site that has the images on its servers can prevent display so their bandwidth is not being used by you or their viewers.

  (a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.

  • Disable any adblocker browser add-ons and all browser extensions and adons.
  • Try clearing your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache
  • Try using another browser.
