Images Not Uploading Despite Saying 100% Uploaded?

Does anyone know how to fix this? I’m uploading images as usual from my desktop. They say 100% uploaded but no image is visible- checked preview, nothing there either.
An old google result suggested settings>misc etc but those settings don’t appear to be there. Help, please?! Thanks!

Have you checked your Media Library page to make sure you have not exceeded your free storage limit for media?
