Images now distorted after upgrade

  Hello

  I had an upgrade to version 5.6.

  The editor block is a nuisance, but there is a classic editor plugin which makes it work normally again.

  However, the photos on the site (there are a few thousand), are all distorted and fuzzy. Is there a way to retroactively fix this? Is there another plugin, or some code change that can restore them?
