Oh–I haven’t changed the url,
but someone did suggest that I should clean up the drafts, & extra images in the media library.
I only deleted a few–and was pretty sure that they were the unused ones—
but what might I have done to cause this?
I guess I should make sure I didn’t delete images used in posts. -
Deleting images in your media library is like burning books in a library: they are no longer available to use. Stop getting your advice from whoever told you to “clean up” your media library. We had one person here last year that wiped out 3,000 images because she wanted a “clean” blog. Then she had to edit 3,000 posts because every post had a broken image in it.

Well actually I only removed ones that I’d considered using, but had not. Like the drafts that weren’t ultimately posted. —I’m checking now to make sure.
It would be nice if there were an indication of which ones had in fact been used in a post; much easier to tidy away the duplicates. -
That was it. As I checked for missing images in the library I deleted a few that I KNEW were duplicates—-and they disappeared from the blog anyway.
So now I have to go back & edit each post to replace the image.
Damn–It means no one’s been able to see them.
(For months many images per page looked shrunken, but when I hit refresh they were restored–so I’d hoped that was only my view)
Thank you very much
—-Still don’t understand why having three copies of an image in the library, and removing one early version, means the post doesn’t stand as it is, with its image–a later version–still in the library.
But am very glad to be able to fix the problem.
