Featured images aren’t displayed on Hemingway Rewritten’s home page by default, as part of its design. They’re only displayed on individual posts or on posts that have been set as sticky posts (you can find guidance for setting a post as sticky here).
If you’d rather your featured image be displayed on your home page by default, you could consider a different theme from our repository.
Toujours and Lovecraft are examples of themes that are similar in layout to Hemingway Rewritten, but that display a post’s featured image alongside it on the home page.
As theme choice is very much down to personal preference, I encourage you to have a browse of your own and narrow down your search using the “featured images” filter here:

Let me know if that helps out or if you have any extra questions.

Thank you for your answer!
I changed to the theme toujours now, so I can add images to my homepage, but I have another question now.
Now my full articles are displayed on the front page, while I’d rather have a piece of text and than a link ‘read more’.
Is this possible in this theme? Thanks in advance!

Toujours does display the full post content by default, however, there’s a couple of ways that you can create excerpts:
- You can place a More Tag at the point you wish for the “continue reading” text to appear. More information on the More Tag, including steps to add one, can be found here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/more-tag
- Another option is for you to create a custom excerpt:
Take a look through the above guides and let me know if any questions come up.
