How can I made the images on my post look bigger that the actual thumbnail that is shown on the post?

What thumbnail? The images are being shown at full width now. Every theme has a maximum displayed image width. It’s best to presize and optimize each image for the web (72 dpi) before uploading them into your blog. That way you do not waste your free image storage space, your get the best image quality and you don’t end up troubleshooting images.
This image is HUGE!

100% it helped. My pages are loading extremely quick.
I come from the printing side of photos where you save every last little pixel. Posting is a whole other animal and I was having trouble understanding it.
I can’t say for Jose this will work because he’s a photographer and needs his photos to be stunning, but as I have it now, for my use, my photos are approx 680 x XXX at the largest. I turn down the quality, thus reducing the size of the file to around 65-85KB (as long as the quality still looks pretty good). The photos are loading a lot quicker.
Just fyi, I’m using Photoshop Elements.

@mangobeans
Hi again,
Here’s the speed test results for your site. Your website is faster than 70% of all tested websites. http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/dIthW7/http://mangobeans.wordpress.com/ We have about 3 – 4 seconds before people stop waiting for our sites to load and numerous studies demonstrate that. That speed is pretty good but if you want to improve it you could do more.These are the ways to reduce page loading time:
1. Edit posts and insert “the more tag” so only excerpts appear on the front page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
Or use a theme that automatically provides front page excerpts. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/theme-with-automatic-excerpts?replies=13#post-1396410
2. Reduce the number of posts appearing on the front page here > Settings > Reading
Blog pages show at most _ posts
You can also disable infinite scroll on that same page.4. Reduce the number of images and or media embeds displayed and/or make them smaller.
5. Reduce the number of widgets in the sidebar and footer areas.
P.S. If you have more questions here’s a link you can use to post your own thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1
