Images showing as POSTS on mobile site
-
I have a series of images that are published for an Image Carousel at the top of my site, but they’re not set to show as ‘published’ images anywhere else. This is working fine on the full website, but unfortunately they show up as separate postings on the mobile site.
Can you tell me if that’s a fault or if it’s a setting I’ve missed?
Many thanks
Michael

Hi Michael,
The carousel at the top of your site is actually a Featured Image slider of your latest posts. Because you’ve chosen to enable the mobile theme for you site, the posts are appearing simply as posts, rather than within a slider, for the sake of space on the smaller screen. If you would like your site to appear on mobile devices just like it does on a computer screen, you can adjust your settings by following these steps:
1. Go to: https://michaelshirrefs.wordpress.com/wp-admin
2. Click Appearance → Mobile
3. Adjust “Enable mobile theme” to No.
4. Click Update.
Your site will now look similar on all devices.
Let me know if you have any other questions. Cheers!

Hi Robyn—I’m so sorry … my terminology was wrong.
What I should have said was that the Slider images are appearing as posts, not the Carousel images. That’s what’s weird, because they’re under a category I created called Images For Slider and that category is not set for anything other than the Slider. It’s certainly not set to publish on the blogroll.

Hi again, Michael,
The slider is a post slider, rather than an image slider. It is meant to show your posts starting with the most recent at the top of your site. If you click on one of the images, it takes the reader directly to the corresponding post. If it were an image slider, clicking would take the reader to a larger version of the image.
Here’s a screenshot, displaying your front page, and the slider in question:
This corresponds with your first post:
https://cloudup.com/cQK8MV_-QTqBecause of the screen size of mobile devices, the slider doesn’t run on the mobile-enable version of the site. Rather, the first display will be the latest post:
https://cloudup.com/iSroKhccVT4While you created a category called “Images For Slider,” it is Posts that you’ve assigned to that category. So, it’s posts that will appear in the slider. Notice that even in the theme’s demo, it’s posts that are linked to those images in the slider:
http://soundcheckdemo.wordpress.com/If you’d prefer to have a slider at the top of the page that does not correspond to Posts, I can help you look into a different theme. Or, if you’d prefer your site to appear more like your theme’s demo, let me know. Finally, if you check out your theme’s demo on a mobile device and like the way it looks, it has “Enable mobile theme” turned off at Appearance → Mobile. You can do this too, if you’d like. Then you slider will display on mobile devices, and your site will appear on mobile devices just as it does on your computer screen.
I hope I’m helping clear things up…but if I’m not understanding your precise goal, please clarify for me exactly how you’d like your site to function on both your computer screen and your mobile devices.
Thanks so much!
