Images showing in preview but broken in live

When I launched my website http://www.LyricSlinger.co.uk all images worked fine. I uploaded images from sites such as Pixabay into a folder on my PC, then uploaded them from there into WordPress to insert into my web pages.
However, at some point, I noticed that errors had begun to creep in. The images were still showing correctly in preview but when I published the pages some (but not all) of the images were broken in Live. The error is that the image doesn’t show and all a user sees is the small box with an x icon and the alt text wording.
I can’t see any rhyme or reason to why some images work and others don’t? Or why they all worked earlier this year and then suddenly aren’t working?
And it’s not just me. My wife has been experiencing the same problem with her blog.
Hoping that someone can explain why this is happening and what I can do to resolve it?
