Images showing up in my library that I did not save to my library

We have a 3.0 gig limit for free image storage in our libraries.

So why are images that I used from a web site in a post and did not save to my library showing up and using up my available space.

If I had wanted them, I would have saved them to the library. The fact that I did not save them to my library means that I did not want them. But, now, if I remove them from the library, will they disappear from the posts in which they appeared?

If so, that is simply not fair.

So, I got brave and tried one. The images I used in the post that I got from a webs site and never saved to my library were missing fro the post and it was ruined.

    Nice fair play, WordPress.

  • Hi there!

I’m not sure how are you adding the images to your posts but if you add them using the “Insert from URL” option, they will not be saved into your Media Library.

If you add them directly to your post from your device, they will be saved to the media library and stored there. Once you remove them from the library, they will also disappear from the posts you have added them to.
