Images sizing
-
Why are my images not staying the size I set them when composing a post? When I drag the corner of an image to enlarge to fit a desired layout, they appear as placed when I preview the post.
Please help.

Hi there – Rather than drag your images, instead, please try changing the sizing by editing the image, as described here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/image-editing/#resizingThe important thing is that when you need to change an image’s size, alignment, caption, etc. after inserting it into a post, it’s best to click on the little landscape icon that appears in the image when you click on it, and then make your changes through the Edit Image box that pops up.
Give that a try and let me know if you still have trouble! If so, please link me to a specific example and describe what you’re trying to change about the image. :)

Thanks, I am aware of the methods you suggest. But they are not flexible enough and I have resized images my way since starting the blog last year. Now, all images in all 280 posts are out of kilter because of something you chaps have changed. It’s not good enough especially since I have paid for a premium service.

Please can we email so I can attach a screen shot

Hi Wayne – You can upload a screenshot to your Media Library and I can look at it there. I’m sorry, I didn’t realize you were attempting to resize your images because of the recent change.
If you want to change all of your images at once, go to Settings > Media here and make sure the max widths and heights are set correctly there:
https://waynesworldautobloguk.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-media.phpIt’s the “medium” size that you’ll want to change.

The most recent uploaded image is a screen shot of a post about Qorus. That is how I laid it out and now it looks like this: http://waynesworldauto.co.uk/2012/12/29/first-images-of-the-gq3-compact-sedan-from-qoros/
ALL my images across my site have defaulted to a smaller size. I am very meticulous about my layouts and have tried to maintain a ‘house’ style. After paying almost £100 for premium privileges, do I now have to individually resize ALL of my images? Frankly, I am not at all happy about this.

Hi Wayne – Please go to Settings->Media here and increase the number for Max Width for medium size images to something larger, say 600px:
https://waynesworldautobloguk.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-media.phpThen load your homepage again and see how your images look. Adjust that size accordingly.
Please let me know how this works for you.

Done that, but your ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution is NOT acceptable, considering I spent hours getting the images the way I wanted them to look only now to have them all the same generic size because you have tweeked the site to suit YOU.
As a ‘premium’ customer of WP, unless I can have the image control restored to what it used to be, here’s what I’m going to do…
* I would like the ‘premium’ payment refunded immediately. If this is not forthcoming, I will consider legal options.
* I will switch to Blogspot.com.^WG

Hi Wayne – I understand your frustration. We made this change because image sizing wasn’t being respected when people changed their themes (and to respect the settings in Settings->Media), so in the long run, this will give you more consistent control over how your images appear. But in the short term, it did change the way many people’s images were displaying.
We can only refund upgrades within the first 30 days after purchase, but if any of your images still aren’t appearing correctly, please let me know and I’ll be happy to work with you to get your blog looking the way you want it to.
