Images suddenly appear as broken links

    Hi there
    I seem to be having an issue with images not uploading this evening and also I have just noticed that many of my previous images are now not showing up on the blog – it looks like all images prior to 20th August have disappeared. I am way under my upload limit. I post daily to the blog so I’m very familiar with the process but today it’s just not working – all I’m getting is broken link icons for any new image I add and for many past posts.

    I just wondered if there’s perhaps a problem with wordpress or if anyone else is experiencing the same?

    In the post you linked, painting with a woman in it is appearing fine at my end. This is the one I’m talking about:

    Are you having an issue with this? Can you try opening the posts or uploading images via a different browser?

    no issues on my end either. Sounds like you’re having a network/connection issue on your end.

    here’s a weird trick to see if the problem is on your end or universal:

    Go to http://translate.google.com
    Select English to Spanish
    Type your website URL in the text box
    Click Translate

    This should show you a version of your website, translated into Spanish. You’re seeing the website through Google’s ISP rather than your own. If everything looks good there, but doesn’t look good looking the normal way, chances are the issue is local to you.

    Many thanks for replying ehtis and James. Yes, this morning it seems as though it’s all resolved. Very odd! I had tried it on different browsers and also on mobile platforms to see whether it was an issue with my browser etc. and I wasn’t having any other problems with other sites.

    Anyway, whatever gremlin it was seems to have made his merry way on now so it’s all good :-)

    And great tip re. Google translate – I shall keep a note of that :-)
