images suddenly not showing up in edit mode and previews

This morning for some reason the image for the draft I am working on and for the one I did yesterday (neither yet published) have lost their images and just show up as icons, even when I preview them. The one I did yesterday looked just fine yesterday, and when I go into the image in WordPress to edit it, both of them show up. I have tried replacing the one for today several times to no avail. They may publish just fine, but if I can’t preview them correctly, I have no idea what will happen when I publish them. Can anyone help?
