Images URL’s in posts are wrong after import but correct in the backend
-
Hi there, I am trying to pull my site over from a temporary domain here: http://tyrhonet1.sg-host.com/
On that domain you can see all the images showing correctly, but when I do an export from there and import to wordpress.com, it picks up the old URL (from wpengine) for images and not the new one here. So although all my images have the correct URL in the backend on backpackingdesigner.wordpress.com, in the posts they are still trying to pull from the old URL and so not showing. Can anyone help me figure out how to change all the image url pulls in the posts so my images show?
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Hello there,
To move a site from self-hosted WordPress to WordPress.com, you might want to consider using our migration tool here: https://wordpress.com/support/moving-from-self-hosted-wordpress-to-wordpress-com/
Failing that, if you’re moving content via an XML only, and the image source is being picked up from the self-hosted site. Prior to exporting the XML, you would need to search and replace the old source, with the new source via a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/better-search-replace/ – on the self-hosted site.
This will temporarily break the self-hosted site, but should in theory show images once imported.
I hope this helps.
