Images won't load for post

    I’m having the exact same problem larrythecontrarian described in his post from yesterday—total inability to upload a photo into a new post. Last night when I clicked on Add Media, then Upload Files, then Select Files—absolutely nothing happened! In the past, that sequence led directly to my photos folder, but last night nothing moved, changed, or opened—the screen just stayed the same until I clicked the X and tried again. I wasted two hours trying over and over to post one simple photo. Nothing has changed on my computer, but something has definitely changed on the WordPress site in the past few days. I’m hoping for a simple solution, such as a return to the way it was before!

    And what browser and version are you using?

    People using IE 9 are experiencing this. The solution is to use a different browser or update IE.

    I logged in using and old PC running Windows XP running IE 9 and then downloaded Firefox 31 from http://browsehappy.com and had no issues at all.

    @timethief for my own curiosity did you have problems with IE9 or did both it and Firefox 31 work for you?

    Good question. I’m sorry to say I didn’t bother try using an outdated browser version and that’s what IE9 is. Instead I immediately downloaded Firefox. I wish I had tried IE9 now but I took that old PC down again and don’t want the hassle of setting it up all over again.

    Glad you found a workaround! However, I would try downloading the latest versions of other browsers such as Chrome or Firefox to get the most of WordPress.com’s features.

    Internet Explorer 9 is an old browser software released in 2011 and I’m afraid that those three years of not being updated will eventually cause things to break.

    @geneabloggist: Can you try updating to the latest version of IE or try uploading using a different browser?
