when i am writing a post and attempt to insert a photo; i click on the add image, and my library of images pops up. If i click ‘add new;’ then ‘library,’ it takes me back to the WP home page. It does not take me to my photo library. I do not have this same problem with my computer or my iPad.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Howdy!

Have you already tried to uninstall and reinstall the app on your iPhone? Which version are you using?

Also, can you let me know which site you’re working on?

I’ll be happy figure this out for you.

Hi! Thank you so much. So: interestingly I got a brand new iPhone 6 Plus yesterday. I was having the same problem on my old phone, and thought the new phone would remedy it. So, no I haven’t reinstalled th app, but it was happening before and is happening again on a brand new phone so I was actually thinking it was not phone-compatible! Hope this answers your question as to version. And the site is hdandthebigjourney. Thank you!

On that note, I also cannot get my picture to be oriented correctly!!

  • Thanks for sharing.

Try loading this site into your browser on the iPhone 6+ https://apps.wordpress.com/ And choose Mobile Apps > iOS > and download it from there.

Once it downloads, login to your account and access your site.

Find and click on the W – My Sites in bottom left corner of the menu > click your site. Click the middle middle menu button, a pencil inside a square, to create your post. On the post editor, the far left option, is the image icon, click on that to add media. The photos from your camera should appear.

In the blue bar at the top you’ll see Cancel – Camera Roll – Done. Selecting Camera Roll will give you a drop down menu of image options.

Please check your settings to make sure that you’ve allowed the app to access your camera.

The sideways image is likely due to the orientation of the camera if you used your phone. Try capturing the image in portrait mode and check to see if your screen lock is on (swipe up on the home screen). Here are the steps to update your Gravatar pic:

Try loading this site into your browser on the iPhone 6+ https://apps.wordpress.com/ And choose Mobile Apps > iOS > and download it from there. DID THIS TWICE

POST DISAPPEARS (STILL)

In the blue bar at the top you’ll see Cancel – Camera Roll – Done. Selecting Camera Roll will give you a drop down menu of image options. DO NOT SEE THIS ANYWHERE

Please check your settings to make sure that you’ve allowed the app to access your camera. DO NOT SEE THIS OPTION IN SETTINGS

    Hi! Just following up. thanks!

  • I want to clarify that you are logged into the WordPress iOS app and not logged into the mobile browser?

Can you walk me through the exact steps you’re using to login?

  • Unknown's avatar

Yes, iOS APP. I am logging in through the app.

  • On your iPhone, open your Settings. There’s a search bar up top, add WordPress to open your WordPress App settings. There, you’ll want to make sure that your Photos and Camera are toggled on Green.

  • Unknown's avatar

That is not an option. The 3 options are cellular data, background refresh, and notifications.

  • This is where the problem is stemming from. The app has not connected to your camera or photos.

Let’s see if uninstalling the app, restarting your phone, and then reinstalling the app will fix this. After you do this, head back to your phone settings and see if there’s an option for Camera and Photos that you can toggle on to green.
