Images/Badges not appearing in sidebar
-
Hi. Super new to wordpress and mostly loving it. I’m having some trouble getting badges, images and image links onto my sidebar. I’ve read the faq and searched the forums a bit, and can’t seem to make any of the solutions work. Every time I put the image and link code in the text-box widget, it deletes the image url upon save. I’d really like to continue to use my remotely hosted images rather than have to upload them all here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Post the code here in the forums so that we can take a look. In the meantime, take a look at this http://support.wordpress.com/links/text-widget-links/

Or at this, for the codes:

The link versions given in that post are for links opening in the same window; if you want them to open in a new window, then you add this after the site URL (with a space inbetween):
target="_blank" -
Hi again. Thanks so much for the links. I’ll check them out now. Here is the code I’m using. (It works perfectly on my blogger sidebar)

Nope. Ok. so it’s the link that’s bad?? lemme try it without the <‘s
a href=”http://www.whiteknot.org/index.html”

with the tilde
Anyway,
the linkhttp://www.whiteknot.org/index.html
goes to a website, not an image. -
Ok. sorry everyone. I’m a dork. Hehe I was misreading the code. What I thought was the size part of the code was actually part of the image name. Now that I added the size code it works fine. Thanks for the links; that’s what helped me see the problem.
