Images/sharing on social media

Hopefully I can describe the issue I’m having. Basically, I noticed when I shared the link to my most recent blog post on my facebook yesterday, this is not image showing up along with the link to the post. In the past, there was a generic image (three elephants) that would always show up. I’m trying to figure out how to fix this – I’d like to put in my own picture and for it to automatically be part of the link when I share on social media. Am I making any sense?

We have no control over the images that Twitter, Facebook or any other social networks chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include.
