Imbalance 2 columns and posts
-
Hi there,
– I’m quite keen to apply the Imbalance2 theme to my blog in order to build a good enough website. I previously had the twenty-ten theme with the CSS upgrade. Once I’ve selected the theme, the 4 columns in the header are completely wrong. The menu appears underneath the first column, and there doesn’t seem to be anything in the 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th column. I’ve also tried those recommendations here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/imbalance-2-column-problem?replies=17 but to no avail. I’m thinking maybe this has somethign to do with how I previously manipulated the CSS for twenty-ten?
– Finally, I’ve tried to post something to see if I even get the cool-looking boxes which you see in so many websites that use this theme, but they don’t even show. Are there any first steps I’m missing?
Cheers,

CSS is theme-specific. You should start by removing everything from the CSS editor. You can copypaste it into a text file and save it in case you ever revert to 2010.

Just what I thought — but then, I’ll be left with a blank CSS editor for Imbalance2, no? Is that ok? Thanks justpi

That’s the whole point. Just make sure you select the option “Add my CSS to Imbalance’s CSS stylesheet”, not the option “Don’t use Imbalance’s CSS”.
And if and when you start making changes to the new theme, keep that option and don’t paste the entire stylesheet in the CSS editor – see here:

Perfect, many thanks justpi. Now, is there a way you can tell me why the boxes in the home page (underneath the header) aren’t showing properly/at all? Cheers,

… my bad, silly mistake. For anyone wondering:
