imbalance 2 help

  Hi Guys,

  I’m interested in using the Imbalance 2 theme in my standard free wordpress account, but I can’t get it to do what I want. Here’s my test theme http://morgancurating.wordpress.com/
  and here’s somebody else using the theme in exactly the way I want to use it

  Do I have to upgrade my account to pro to be able to get it like this? I mean the way his categories seem to be pages you can click on which have posts only attributed to that category. In my options the only way I can get that to happen is if I have a clunky thing that says categories. Any help would be much appreciated.
